Bags and Coats: For the safety of the artworks, all large bags, backpacks, and coats must be left in the museum’s cloakroom or lockers.
Food and Drink: To prevent damage to the photographs, food and drinks are not allowed inside the exhibition spaces. You are welcome to enjoy refreshments at the on-site café.
Photography: Photography is generally permitted in the museum. However, the use of flash is prohibited, especially when photographing vintage works. During certain guided tours or events, taking pictures may also be restricted.
Keep a Safe Distance: Please maintain a distance of at least one meter from the artworks to avoid accidental contact.
No Smoking: Foam is a smoke-free facility. Smoking is not permitted anywhere inside the building.
Volume: Please be mindful of other visitors by speaking in a quiet tone and moving through the galleries respectfully.

Foam is located at Keizersgracht 609, situated on one of Amsterdam’s most picturesque canals in the heart of the city’s historic center.
The museum’s standard opening hours are from 10 AM to 6 PM on Monday, Tuesday, Wednesday, Saturday, and Sunday.
On Thursdays and Fridays, Foam offers extended hours, staying open until 9 PM.
This provides visitors with the flexibility to explore the exhibitions in the morning, afternoon, or evening.
Things to Know Before Visiting Foam
To ensure entry and avoid queues, it’s highly recommended to purchase your tickets online before your visit.
While Foam is a photography museum, taking photos of the art itself may be restricted to protect the works. Please check for specific signage or ask a staff member if photography is permitted in a particular exhibition.
The museum is located in a historic canal house, which presents some accessibility challenges. If you require assistance or have specific needs, contact the museum ahead of time.
